Jinxed in South Carolina!

Our travel day home started as expected, but didn’t end that way.  After taquitos for b’fast, decided to not befoul Billy’s day by getting to the airport super early and releasing him to get most of his day back.  Chilled out at Savanna airport awaiting our flight with the first signs of trouble showing a later and later arrival of the inbound flight.  When finally onboard, the captain advised that the flight to DFW would be even later, and our chances of making the connection began to fade.  Sure enough, after a late departure, longer than scheduled flight (around storm centres and against head winds), and a lengthy wait for a gate on the tarmac at Dallas, we did indeed miss the connection.  Donnie at the customer service was helpful in laying out some very unattractive options, such as fly to California next day, change carriers to get to Seattle and finally with someone else get back to YYC.  The less objectionable option was to wait until Wednesday for the only direct flight with seats available (two nights in Dallas), with a suggestion to check back first thing Tuesday in case an seats on the Tuesday flight opened up.  At first, Donnie said hotel vouchers were not offered for “weather” delays, but he relented and queued us up for two night Bed & B’fast at the Atrium Airport.  The Atrium turned out to be a bit sketchy, old and tired.  Grabbed a quick bite at the busy lobby bar - seems a lot of AA customers needed a room!  But the room was clean and comfortable, buffet b’fast pretty good.  Called AA early Tuesday and was relieved to get us on the evening flight, which hopefully will get us home and able to attend to all of our appointments Wednesday!  We’ve now had more than our share of travel disruptions in and out of Savanna/HHI, but also our recent return from Puerto Vallarta - could it be something to do with an Owners Club jinx?
