Dolphin Head

Tee time at 9:10 saw us off to the Plantation area of the island after toast and coffee.  We arrived a bit early and found a mix up as the groups in front of us were very late and we took the option to tee off right away while they awaited their players.  This meant no warm up and a very hurried start but also that once we were through the first hole (whereat Billy posted a birdie) it was clear sailing through the remainder of the round.  Birdie juice on the second tee helped calm everyone down.  The quality of play left something to be desired but otherwise a very enjoyable outing, especially the company.  The sun tried to find a way through the overcast on a few occasions but generally it was cool, breezy and a bit humid.  Lots of gator sightings and went through Moe, Ned, Opie, Pete, Quin, Rossco, Steve and Ted. After golfing, we made our way to Hickory Tavern for a burger and beer which hit the spot.  With lunch under our belts, we stopped at Krogers for cash and supplies (forgot to get tin foil) before hot tubbing to relieve the aches and pains.  Billy prepared a fabulous Thai Noodle Poke Bowl c/w ahi tuna that was most pleasing (we’ll have to try to recreate this at home).  After dinner we settled in for some free flowing wine and silly old movies.  Commented on how different the acting and special effects are nowadays, which reminded Karen of watching Hart to Hart in New Braunfels, a truly awful time waster we endured there on one of the many poor weather days.
