Alexandria then Weston

Up and about groggily, we got packed up and checked out of the lovely St. Regis ($$$).  Met T&D and hopped in an Uber to Alexandria to explore this quaint little water front (Potomac) bedroom community and touristy area.  Lovely b’fast a Mia’s and wandered around a bit through the waterfront before heading back to St. Regis to bid farewell and grab another Uber out to BWI Rental Car center.  Picked up our brand new Chevy and after some Old Man issues with the technology, we were on our way across the top panhandle of Maryland through heavily forested countryside until we got into the hills (mountains?) and stopped briefly at an interesting pass that had been quite the impediment to westward travel before blasting a path through to West Virginia.  The drive was interesting and we made our way to Weston without incident.  After fuelling up, found the Holiday Inn tucked in behind a strip mall up a hill.  Grabbed a rather unsatisfying bite at what passes for the local Mexican joint, we retired to our spacious and comfortable room.
