Menehune Shores

This is the second time we've been to Maui and stayed at this condo complex.  It is situated facing the ancient Kalepolepo fish pond which basically is a man made lagoon protected from the surf by a stone barrier constructed in antiquity.  We have a great view of Maalaea Bay and hope to be able to observe some whale activity from our Lanai.  Off to a good start after chorizo and egg taquitos, Karen and I set out to get supplies and hit the very busy Kahalui Costco and Wally World before a brief stop at the Farmers Market on the way back.  While we did that, the boys enjoyed exploring the Keaka beach and got some sun.  Once we had loaded up the groceries and put everything away, I was able to take a quick dip in Kalepolepo which was very refreshing.  The balance of the day was spent relaxing, reading and playing cribbage on the Lanai.  We ordered some great pizza from Fabiani's which delivered to our door and capped of a busy first day on island time.
