Oranjestad, Aruba

Beware the Ides of March, we celebrated our 28th Anniversary in Aruba at the penultimate port of call on our Caribbean Cruise.  We had cancelled our Jeep Safari some days ago because after our first such experience, another hot, bumpy drive around had lost its appeal.  So after a very leisurely morning, we set out on our Bob guided walking tour of the largest town in the Dutch West Indies ABC islands in the heat of the afternoon.  After sweating up a thirst, we stopped for a Balashi and Bitterbalen at the Paddock Eatery, which was not that inspiring.  Then back to the ship to while away the rest of the afternoon.  B&R dropped by our stateroom with a bottle of bubbly to toast our anniversary and we headed up to the Sette Mari one last time and were seated at a perfect table from where to watch a beautiful sunset as we pulled out of port.  After dinner saw us return to the Meridian Lounge for an ADD and spin around the dance floor before turning in where we found a lovely cake and glasses of sparking wine set out for our celebration.
