Still exploring Lyon

We had a very slow start on this day, after the petit dejeuner, the touring party fractured with Matthew and Alex off to do some treasure seeking.  Myles, K and I found Place de Terraux and the Musee des Beaux-Arts, were we had a self guided tour.  Across the Place was a large fountain which I did not get a name for, but of a Woman and Child in a chariot?

Also at this Place was the opera, quite a beautiful building. Afterwards, we wandered along the Rhone to Hotel Dieu to find Le Dome.  Per usual, closed when we got there.  Fatigue, Afame et Soif again, we were directed to the Pino Pizza around the corner as a possibility that ignores Lyonnaise tradition.  Reconnected with the shoppers after their successful activity and shared a light lunch.  Upon the 3 o’clock hour, we made our way back to Le Dome for a valuable cocktail which improved Myles’ mood immeasurably.  C’est magnifique!  Next stop,

Perrache where we met Myles childhood close friend Ashton who now lives in Leeds but was in Paris for a conference.  Grabbed the 8 to the Barge and prepared a charcuterie and enjoyed visiting with Ashton.  When it came time to head out for dinner, Myles discovered tiny little hole in the wall (literally) in his inimitable fashion and we were able to hail an Uber to take us there.  Sadly, the tiny room was full, and a second choice also complet, we walked around the corner to Bouchon Palais Grillet

, which had a table available.  The Specialites Lyonnaises, not so special, I’ll leave it at that, but otherwise a lovely evening and Ashton was able to hail an Uber (same one!) to ferry us home.  Had to be Ashton, whatever is going on with my technology, I couldn’t get a response.
