Cinque Terre

After a good night's sleep, Cinque Terre was far more appealing. Had breakfast at our hotel, first real sit down breakfast since arriving in Italy. Caught the first boat to Riomaggiori at 10:30 and arrived at about 11:20. The coast is very beautiful. Walked around Riomaggiori for a bit and then followed Via dell Amore to Manorola. Once again, had to deal with poor blood sugar management, but nevertheless, found a nice pininoteca and had our first panini calda (believe it or not). Took the hike up high around Manorola which was beautiful. Wound our way back into town and then picked up the trail to Corniglia. Walked along rugged and beautiful coastline. Saw Italy's most beautiful nude large stone beach (and I'm not talking about the humans). It was very hot and dry and dusty, so by the time we got to Corniglia, there was no pazienza for a big climb into town once it was realized that the train station was at hand. Grabbed the train to Monterosso and got back to the hotel. Matthew and I went for a swim in the Ligurian Sea while Myles and Karen did a bit of shopping. After swimming, Matthew and I enjoyed a very animated argument between to senior Italian uomini, we were sitting on a bench and lol. M&K had great luck in the shopping finding some of the souvenirs we've been searching for. All in all a good day so far. Hope to find a great meal tonight overlooking the harbour.
