Well after a stumbling start, we have made it to Rome. Our flight from Calgary was very late and they had to hold the plane to Rome. Worried that our bags would not make it, but all was well in the end. Found the Piccolo Suore della Sacra Famiglia convent no trouble and it is very nice. No english spoken, so my little bit of Italian was a help. Convent is very nice, convenient to the Vatican Museum. Wandered around the Vatican and just got our bearings. Lunch curbside, pizza etc. Way better than a Jambon et Fromage. First gelato is all it's made out to be.
Still searching for a phone SIM, should get that sorted out soon and report on my next post.
