After a much needed ETB, it was up and at em (11 hours prone). Had a most pleasing full english breakfast and then went for a great walk through fields and pastures, apple orchards, a bird sanctuary at Walton Lake, Tinkers Bridge, cricket club, rugby training ground. After that we hailed a cab to Bletchley Park (Enigma vs. the Bombe). Fascinating museum of the location of the British intelligence service during WWII. Ran into Matt and Tara Brister. Afterwards, waited long for a cab to deliver us back downtown to the Lloyds #1 Bar. Things were hopping, loads of Canadians. Shovel showed up with his kid Noel in Lumberjack regalia. Had a sing along (more than one). Much revelry ensued. Linked up with Rick Mills (collected all tickets) and Darren Todd, then off to Stadium MK. What a great venue for the match. Full house with majority of Canadian fans. Canada put up a stiff resistance but didn't have the critical mass to get ahead and any point. Very entertaining rugby with a couple of sniffs of pulling off an upset. Wasn't to be sadly. Back to Lloyds #1, but not before getting completely separated from Miles and Matt, Mark and I on the wrong bus. Just had a couple more in order to convene the third Kangaroo Kourt - whereupon the Mountie was re-assigned to Matt for the heinous crime of over serving himself. Hopped in a cab at the Jury's Inn. Asked the cabbie how much and he wanted 15#. Too much says I, and out we got. Luckily, another cab was at hand who delivered us to Kents Hill Park for 10#. Try as we might we could not get one more beer, as if we needed another at 2:00 am. Off to bed and had another great sleep. Up at 8:00 for another full English breakfast before heading off to the MK Central. Boarded the Virgin train to Birmingham at 10:13 am which was two hours earlier than our reservation - no problems. Made a quick connection onto the Cardiff train (X-country line) and I am now blogging while the boys are playing cribbage.
