South Africa was way too strong for the Eagles, who fell to a crushing defeat 64-0. Habana scored 3 trys to equal Jonah Lomu for most trys in the tournament. Not a terribly entertaining game to watch. Had decided to make our way back to Kensington immediately after the game, so just piled in with the masses headed for the train. Overground and Underground all mixed together, and thankfully Denise was on top of the system so that she recognized that we could hop on the tube and get all the way to Hyde Park. Didn't need rail passes nor Oyster cards for this trip as the system is set up to just get people out and away. Got off the tube at Marble Arch station so I could get a picture and walked along Edgeware and Sussex Gardens until we stumbled upon the Monkey Puzzle pub. Great place where the proprietor (a Limmerick man) was very happy to help out getting us fed and watered. Charcuterie boards were very good and we enjoyed watching the Georgia vs. Namibia game. Afterwards, we found ourselves very close to the flat and only a few more steps along Sussex Gardens to London Street and Bathurst Mews. Straight to bed for an early night. Don't really have much of a plan for Thursday, we've now been ot all five of the games planned. Might take a train trip somewhere.

RWC2015 Stratford
Once everyone was back on their feet, the more energetic were back out to Hyde Park for some fresh air. We had decided to try to head out to the Olympic Stadium a bit early and take in the fan zone. Set off walking towards the park and eventually got a van cab for all 6. Traffic was quite heavy and took longer than we thought to get to Liverpool Street Station, but drove by many of the sights we saw on our bicycle tour. Once to Liverpool Street, we were able to hop on a train to Stratford without delay. There, we walked along until we came upon an outdoor grill alongside a building where we could get inside out of the drizzle. Difficult weather to dress for as alternating too warm, too cold. Anyway, had burgers and smokies for lunch, with a beer. Fan Zone was fairly large, but to wet and cold to spend much time in there. Off to the stadium and found our seats to be quite exceptional. Great view of the surface and comfortable. Thanks to Rugby Canada for making these available to us.
