Cabo Espichel

Breakfast this morning was better than expected.  We seem to have quickly adjusted to the time zone with no obvious jet lag. All slept well and were ready to go at 0800.  Hopefully not a false positive. We went up to the Castelo and really enjoyed walking the ramparts.  Visited Senhora de Consolacau (Our Lady of Solace) church and the necropolis (Cemetario).  Then we drove to the Cabo Espichel where we visited the church and lighthouse.  The cliffs left me with much anxiety as I watched the boys venture close to the edge.  K was freaked for sure. By then it was lunch time and we headed back towards Sesimbra.  Couldn't find anything appealing along the way and we wound up back in town and parked at a meter.  Walked along looking for a place to eat that appeared busy.  The spot we found was indeed busy, but english not part of the deal.  Stumbled through the menu with a young (very) server and somehow ordered enough food for eight people.  No one would help me eat the sardines but the "sideburns" were most pleasing (pork chops).  Had a problem working out how to order shrimp (Camarao), but they made a special dish just for us.  Sesimbra is truly a fishing village as there isn't much other than fish on any menu.  Myles is stuggling to find suitable food, but might come to like seafood after all.  Found our way back to the hotel and scammed a parking spot out front.  The roof top pool and lounge area is truly fantastic overlooking the fabulous Sesimbra crescent beach.  The beach is not too crowded today (Friday) early in July, but I think it will be cheek by jowell tomorrow.  The sky is blue and the sun is powerful and we are having a sasparilla enjoying the late afternoon sun.  Might need a siesta before seeking another fish dinner.
