Cold and Damp
Our month long visit to central Texas is rapidly closing. The cold weather appears to be with us until we head east to New Orleans on Saturday, so today we just hunkered down in the condo. We did get out during the day to do some shopping at the Thrift Shop and successfully replaced some breakage and rounded out my costume for the Orpheuscapade upcoming in NO. We also made a stop at the ZAR shop to collect some more potent pain management product for K’s knee which has continued to be a bother. Later on, we did make our way one last time to Gruene for dinner at the Grist Mill with friends Joel, Kyle and Dynamo along with their partners. Karen tried the Chicken Fried Steak, but is wasn’t as fantastic as what the kids had at McAdoo’s. After dinner and a couple drinks, we moseyed on over to the Gruene Hall for the last set of a jam session that was cobbled together after the scheduled act had cancelled due to weather presumably. The dance hall was rather cold and we sat huddled together, not quite shivering. I’m very grateful to have been able to catch up with these old friends several times during our stay, in spite of the weather our visit has been hugely successful in that aspect.
